I think that this season of Survivor has been the first season of either Big Brother or Survivor that I’ve actually liked while blogging for at the same time. That may be a slight overstatement, because I did like other seasons of Survivor that have been on the past few seasons, but I’m not sure I actually liked them WHILE they were on – it was more afterwards, I sat back and thought about it – and realized I liked it. This time around, I think I actually like this season. I’m not saying it’s the best season of Survivor I’ve ever watched, but it’s been far and away the best season of the past five, at the very least. Maybe 10. Just in my opinion. Yes, the Boston Rob vs. Russell season was pretty epic, but when you REALLY look at that season, it was actually pretty boring, with Rob just bossing everyone around and CBS all but showing the cards they dealt in guaranteeing Rob the $1 million prize as long as he … Continue reading

This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind for me. As many of you who follow me on Facebook know, March Madness is an obsession of mine. It’s slightly better than Christmas, minus the part where I get presents from people. However, life got the way of many of my laid-out plans. A member of my wife’s family passed away. She was her Godmother. She died much too young, leaving behind a husband and three young children. I never like starting my blogs off this way, and contemplated not writing anything, but someone that close to my wife deserves a moment of acknowledgment, even if it’s in the beginning of some silly blog her Goddaughter’s husband writes. To Nadine, I give you these laughs I try to provide in the following paragraphs. You meant so much to my wife growing up. It’s the least I could do.

Happy Spring! Or as I’m calling it, the Dawn of Global Colding. Jesus H. McDonalds it’s cold outside. It’s actually snowing here in IL tonight, with a low of something like 0 (after the wind chill). And, over the next few weeks, we’re not even getting out of the mid-40s, so it’s not like we have anything to look forward to. Typically, I don’t care if it’s warm or cold outside, but when you work in a populated high-rise, and your shift isn’t one of the firsts of the day, you tend to end up parking a good 2 miles from the front door. So, with that, I’d much rather it be warmer outside. I’ll thank you very much for switching that around for us, Mother Nature. Well played. Funny joke you pulled on us. April Fool’s is coming up, so call it already and lets get into the 60s again, ok?
Thanks.
The episode starts off with some rapid-fire b*tching from the Bikal tribe, who, if I recall, were the ones who decided … Continue reading
