Three episodes down and it looks like we’re in for a big power shift. The promos for this week indicate that someone who thinks they’re in charge is getting blind-sided, so I’m going into this episode thinking Brad’s on the chopping block. Let’s see if CBS is pulling the old bait-and-switch or if they’re simply tipping their hand a bit much…
In the opening recap we’re reminded that Jeff really doesn’t like Colton very much, does he? He may actually hate him more than I do, which is saying a lot. I think I’ve spent more time in my columns harping on Colton more than anything else this season. And because of that, I think I need to make one thing clear: I’m not ragging on Colton because he’s gay. Believe me, I adore the gays. I simply dislike Colton because he’s so full of himself without justification. The fact that you’re (A) gay, (B) from the South, and (C) have supposedly lived a “hard life” because of A and B should not give you a sense of entitlement. Especially since (D) thousands and thousands of viewers across the country – who are fans of this show – hate you. Sure, everyone’s entitled to his or her own share of pride, but show some humility. He just comes across as someone who thinks their s**t doesn’t smell simply because he’s “different.” I don’t buy it…
I even watched him on the Survivor After Show with Parvati, just to see if he’s shown any growth since this season ended. And nope, it still looks like he’s the same old Colton . He’s got another “season” behind him (insert joke here) and oddly, the one person he’s most willing to rip is Jeff. Essentially telling us not to pay attention to anything Jeff says (he’s just the Executive Producer and the epitome of this show, you boob) because it didn’t make sense to call him a quitter for the way he left his first time one. And while his explanation does make some sense, it just seems like he’s still not revealing everything about his “bacterial infection.” Whatev. Go away…
So, to my amusement, Jeff does seem to take a little bit of pleasure out of ripping Colton .
“ Colton took the easy way out,” is how he describes the quit this time. Ouch.
But you know what? That’s what you get when you go on a reality show and then quit a week into it. You get ripped by the host. Why? Because you shouldn’t go on the freakin’ reality show in the first place IF YOU DON’T INTEND TO STICK IT OUT! I’ll say it again, think of the thousands of viewers who’d kill to be in your shoes (as long as they’re not flip-flops) and compete for a million bucks. Maybe I’m beating a dead horse here, but it pisses me off when someone quits MY SHOW. It’s like how all those suburban moms used to defend how important Days of Our Lives was to them in the 80’s. Man, maybe I am taking this a little too seriously…

Nice Recap!! I’m really starting to like your writing style 🙂 Wish you would do Amazing Race too!!
Thanks Mom! (I’m kidding, you’re not my mom). But thank you for the support. I truly appreciate it. I’m trying to be funny, it’s just tough sometimes when it’s late and you can’t find a good one-liner. They may say “there’s truth in wine” but let’s hope they start saying “there’s humor in vodka!” Hope someone starts doing some crazy s**t on the show so I can start ripping someone new… Fish
