First things first, congrats to the Chicago Cubs for winning a post-season game! I guess all it took was keeping Steve Bartman away from Pittsburgh and it was a lock. Well, that and Jake Arrieta… Dude’s a monster. And I presume this will make Mr. Scott Ottersen happy, and it’s always good to see my compatriots with a smile on their face. Not sure who Mr. Carbone is rooting for this post-season (who he bet on?) but let’s hope he’s rooting for a Dodger win on Friday. Can we snap the Kershaw postseason jinx?! And why is he pitching before Greinke? And is Puig gonna play? Too many questions, just gonna say that if the Dodgers win, Fish would be happy, and that’s what we need right now.

And just for the record, Fish is back to drinking vodka. Woo-Hoo! Toss all those expectations of sophisticated drinking with me out the window. You’re lucky we’re not drinking some crap American beer. Allow me the unpleasant joy of drinking my Burnett’s and Dragon Juice. Mmmm….it’s … Continue reading

Merge! Merge! Merge!

For some reason I’m picturing Katniss Everdeen standing in front of the tribe raising her 3-finger salute at the tribes. Suddenly, helicopters can be heard in the distance. Confusion turns to chaos as everyone looks up to see a group of ex-players rappelling down and landing on the beach. They start attacking the “Hunapoyans” with a variety of sticks, logs and coconuts. They are led by Coach, who can be heard about the fray…

“Think like a man of action, act like a man of thought,” he says as he stabs Keith with the dull end of a bamboo pole.

“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity,” as he throws a spear at Jon…

“It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both!” as he hacks at Josh and Reed with a machete…

Other players like Russell, Boston Rob, Tyson, Parvati, Colby, Rupert, Jerri, Malcolm, Brenda and Skupin are part of the carnage. Corinne’s even there, throwing flaming coconuts at Julie whilst holding a cocktail, not … Continue reading

Holy smokes, has everyone recovered from last week? Does everyone agree we hate J’Tia? Are the Lobotomies on a downward spiral to an Ulong level demise? Should the tribe be absorbed like previous tribes that have failed this miserably, or should we just sacrifice all the players and throw them into a volcano?

Maybe just J’Tia…

It’s been a week and I still can’t get over how poorly the Lobots played in week 1. With all that brainpower, with all that history, you’d think something clever would have come out of that tribe; instead, we were subjected to a breakdown that rivaled some of the best this show has ever seen. Even when I saw the promo spots for this week’s episode (with J’Tia crying), it looked like we might be in for another meltdown. Oh, please, let the Survivor gods vote off J’Tia…

To the episode, Batman!

After the recap of last week, we see the Lobots returning to camp after tribal and Spencer is dumbfounded at what transpired. We already know he thinks … Continue reading
