Just like every season, the closer we get to Final Tribal, the higher the stakes. In past seasons, there always seemed to be some clear “favorites” to win it all. Last season it was Cochran (because no one thought Dawn or Sherri would/could win) and before that it was Denise vs. the non-threats of Lisa and Skupin. 3 seasons ago, it was Kim, who dominated against Sabrina and Chelsea. You can even go 2 more seasons and see that Sophie and Boston Rob were shoe-ins to win (both dominated in the final tribal voting).
So you have to go back 5 SEASONS to find a close vote at Tribal (Fabio vs. Chase & Sash (5-4-0 in the voting)). I’m mentioning this because at this point in the game, I’m seeing no one dominating. Yeah, you could say that Tyson and Gervase are the de facto leaders of the Kasama tribe, but does that mean they’re locked in for Final Tribal? Hell no. I see at least 7 out of the final 11 having a shot, and that doesn’t mean that the other 4 don’t have a chance either. This is what I love about the game: that every episode can bring a twist and throw the game on its ear. I can’t wait to see what happens tonight, since I didn’t see many commercials this week for tonight’s episode. Hopefully we’re in for something epic…
We head over to the Kasama camp after tribal. The tribe is giving Katie the old “sorry to vote your mom—we feel really bad for you” speech. (Tyson is particularly good at this kind of thing.) However, Katie is feeling like the next one in the crosshairs, so she reveals she needs to figure out something tonight and put it in play tomorrow, lest she’s going home.
And then a conversation between Ciera and her mom confirms that others are targeting Katie…or Monica. Who may have pissed off one too many people with her mouth…
But devious little Ciera has ANOTHER idea in mind. While she came into the game thinking she’d follow her mom’s advice, she’s coming to realize that she’s a better player, has a better chance to win, and would gladly throw her mom under the bus to get farther in the game. Ooooh, I can’t wait to see how THAT’S going to play out…
So does anyone think there actually is a second immunity idol out there? I mean, why would they bother with clues to the same spot where one was already found? That would be another excellent twist to this season, add another layer etc. I just think it is really dumb if there is not another-after all the drama of burning the clues, we finally get one actually read-and for the clue to be useless is just obnoxious!
I feel like other seasons there was more than one idol… 2 seasons ago Malcolm had 2 and have one away to save and his 2 amigos and vote out Philip.
I agree with both of you. I wouldn’t put it past the show to add another twist and stick another idol IN THE SAME SPOT. It does seem kinda silly to keep giving out clues when it’s been found, but who can say? Would be great if someone surprises everyone at Tribal…
