We’re taken to a beach where Kasama is getting ready to endure another Immunity Challenge. Looks like we’re going to have 3 competitors at Redemption before we see the Aras-Vytas battle. Looking good for them to stay in this for a bit longer.
Jeff tells us the survivors need to balance some antique coins on the flat handle of a sword that’s placed on a shield. Immediately, I’m wondering if Tyson’s arm is healed enough to either hold the sword with some precision, or if it’s strong enough to accurately place the coins. We’ll see.
Monica and Ciera carelessly drop a coin and are out in no time. Tina, Gervase and Laura are the next ones to go. Final four is Caleb, Hayden, Tyson and Katie. Hayden looks strong as he’s placing coins and taking the luxury of looking at his competitors every so often. Tyson is sweating up a storm, and Katie is being urged on by her mom (I think that would distract me…). Caleb is the next to go…
After placing a large coin, Tyson’s stack falls and then immediately Hayden’s goes too. Katie wins immunity, and no one needed it more than her.
Which means that Tina needs to find the Hidden Immunity Idol more than anything else. We know she won’t find it, but she still tells Katie that she’s got 5 hours to look or go home. And of course, that means the other players are going to shadow her for the next 5 hours, so as she heads off down the beach, Tyson, Caleb and Hayden trudge off after her.
Tyson is tempted to tell the other players, “we can go take naps, because I have it,” but he really doesn’t want a target on his back, so he’ll play along on the Tina Babysitting Adventure. She actually does manage to shake them for a bit, but the guys split up and track her down soon enough. And now we got a Mexican stand-off similar to the one between Andrea and Malcolm on Caramoan last season. Tina knows that if she continues looking, they’ll know she hasn’t found it, but if she doesn’t look, she’s toast. What to do, what to do…
Back at camp, while everyone’s trying to figure out a plan for “what if Tina finds the idol?” Monica is doing what Monica does best: gets paranoid. And while that’s typically a good place to operate from on Survivor, it’s not good to show that to everyone. Gervase and Tyson are recalling “that time” that she flipped her vote to Vytas (since it was just last night) and agree that a loose cannon is just not a good weapon to have in your arsenal.
So right about now, I’m just wondering why no one’s devising some new alliance. I don’t know: Hayden, Caleb, Monica, Tina and Katie would make a pretty strong 5 against Tyson, Gervase, Laura and Ciera. I guess no one wants to rock the boat, but this would be the time to make something happen like that. I guess we don’t have any John Cochran’s this season, let’s just see them vote out Tina because no one has a creative (i.e. dastardly) bone in their body.
At Tribal, Jeff addresses the obvious that after last Tribal, Tina and Katie are clearly on the bottom. But Tina decides to take this opportunity to throw Monica under the bus and tell her she’s on the bottom (after her and Katie, of course). Seriously, Mrs. Culpepper is enduring some brutal tribals lately. So after a few probing questions to the tribe, it comes out that Monica may be on the bottom since there are 4 pairs left (Tyson/Gervase, Hayden/Caleb, Tina/Katie, Laura/Ciera) which leaves Monica to fend for herself. This is why I was saying she (or somebody) should be making a play or the game’s just going to go to Tyson or Gervase. Monica’s only contention is that she hasn’t flipped on her alliance, so she’s solid, no matter how you look at her. (Just don’t listen to her!)
And after the vote, despite a couple throwaways, Tina gets the ax. And in her typical cheerful way, says goodbye and tells them “see ya tomorrow!”
8 are left. Can Katie break into the “alliance of 7?”
In the tease of next week, we see that Ciera is now gunning for her mom, despite being the final “couple” in the game. So let’s see how that’s going to play out this holiday season at the Morett house.
And then Tina arrives at Redemption to the welcoming arms of Aras and Vytas. Big hugs for Tina but you know that means they’re just tenderizing her before they throw her on the fire. Does anyone think she stands a chance against the mighty Baskauskas brothers? We’ll see what happens next week. Until then…keep watching TV!

Thank you, bmayer, for including that link. All too often the “critters” are totally forgotten when disaster strikes. I’m glad there’s a group that helps them specifically. My mother would be proud of you!
