You got lucky, Malcolm. I’m on the fence with the other people who didn’t outbid him for the information. Not sure if they were stupid to let him have it or if they just assume no matter what it is, they’ll still be able to get him, or one of Reddie out of the game, so they decided to just let him have it. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt (I know, that makes me the dumb one now) and say they’re fine for letting him have the information. Most likely, it’s about the idol, so just put someone on Malcolm duty for the next day, shadowing his every move, never leaving him alone to go and find the idol. You want to be serious about getting him out – that’s how you do it!
As with every season, they screw someone over, who spent their money on a meal for themselves, only to have Jeff pull the rug out from under them by telling them they have the opportunity to trade their meal for beans and rice they can take back to camp with them. I wonder what would have happened if Andrea said no, and just ate her pasta and drank her wine? I doubt she’d have been voted out for it. I don’t think the fact that she did it will win her any votes in the end, so if I’m Andrea, maybe I take my spaghetti and wine meal, sit down, and stare every motherf*cker in the eyes as I take each bite! Then, when I get back to camp, just pull a Brandon and throw away all the beans and rice and force the production staff to give these people more food since humans shouldn’t go 10 days without any nourishment from food. I’m sure that would win her some votes in the end.
Speaking of math scholars, Sherri obviously isn’t one. How are the three amigos unbeatable? The alliance breakdown is 6 for the “favorites” and 3 for the “amigos.” Even if one of them wins the immunity and another one has the idol, how does it work out for that other one? He doesn’t look so unbeatable now, does he? Come on, Sherri, you know better. Also, you’re just like Erik – just a big talker. You might say you want to play with the guys, but we all know you’re full of sh*t. You run a fast food chain, which are the biggest bullsh*tter type businesses around, considering NOTHING you order looks anything like any picture we ever see of that item!
Andrea and Cochran “catch” Malcolm as he’s looking for the idol. My main question here is ‘why does Malcolm care?’ It’s 100% obvious what he’s doing. It’s 100% obvious why he’s doing what he’s doing. What should he care if he has an audience? Sure, if he’s digging, it may just make Andrea dig with him, and make it possible for her to find the idol, but all you need to do is tackle her and take it from her (still unsure about the “stealing the idol” rule – can you?) and all is back to right in the world! Seriously, though, your game depends on you finding this idol, so why would you care if someone watches you as you look for it? Didn’t you just get done finding an idol as Dawn and Andrea stood within 5 feet of you? Didn’t that JUST happen like 2 days ago, Malcolm? So, what is the big deal now? Just go start digging in random areas where you know the idol isn’t and if they start digging with you, just leave them and dig elsewhere. They’re not going to follow you around every second of the day! They don’t have that kind of resolve inside them. We know that. Nobody in the game wants to win THAT badly, so you’ll have some alone time. I’ll just never understand why if someone has an idea where the idol may be, why they’d EVER spend any other second NOT looking for it! Why would he ever be sitting in a chair, at camp, talking to Reddie when he could be out looking for the idol that could help him win the $1 million? I guess it’s like I said – nobody wants to win THAT badly. Shame.
At the immunity challenge, Eddie says what we’re all thinking, telling us that Cochran isn’t a physical threat at all, even with the advantage. Although, the advantage he gets seems to be a good one. The two rung advantage seems like it will be truly beneficial. And, I’m proud of my old roomie, because he used it at the perfect time! Some people may have thought to wait until you get closer to the bottom rung, but that would be the wrong move. Doing it at the beginning will help him conserve more energy. He may be a weakling, but in a challenge like this, all he needs to have is more energy and a better grip at the end, and he’ll be in good shape. And, he proves he did the right thing by winning! Although, I think I’d like to add that I still think they should have made Cochran move down his last two rungs in 5 minute increments still. It’s only an advantage, not him getting to play a completely different game. I thought it was a little unfair that he got to keep his hands where he did. Although, with that said, I’m not sure if Eddie lasted 5 minutes at that last section, so who knows if they might have made Cochran move his hands down. Guess I blew my own self out the water there. My argument is now defunct. Doesn’t matter. I don’t think Eddie would have lasted much longer anyway. That was Cochran’s to win, with that advantage. That’s also another thing I forgot to mention – the fact that neither of Reddie bid on the advantage in the challenge! True form of an idiot there. You guys are at the bottom of this game and the only thing that can save you is winning challenges. You’re offered the opportunity to buy an advantage in the challenge. And, you don’t. Good call.
You mentioned his greatest competitor line but I think the even funnier one is when Sherri fed him peanut butter like a porno and Jeff goes “that doesn’t happen often does it Cochran?”
And he doesn’t miss a beat and says “more often than you think Jeff.”
Apparently new Cochran became a comedian before he got out to his second season cause his one liners have been absolutely hilarious this season!
A season makes such a difference. Sometimes when they bring back a player you see a completely different side . . . . in this case, I really liked Malcolm and he kind of turned into a douchebag and joined the ‘popular kids’ lunch table. That was waaaayyy too early for that move. Who would want to leave the three most athletic players in the game? He should have gotten those two out and then gone up against some of his original group – he could have easily gotten rid of Fillup at that point. And Cochran was nothing but an embarrassment and extremely annoying the last time he played and this time he is witty and enjoyable, and I find myself actually hoping he makes it to the final three.
You make a really good point. At this stage of the game, you have 10 days left. Leave the food alone and save your money for the advantage in the next immunity round. It helped that Brazilian Abi and now Cochran.
The three newbies are all annoying, so I’m hoping for a so-called “Favorite” winning it all.
Thanks for the recaps – you make me laugh until I can’t breathe!
