At the immunity challenge, Bikal actually keeps up with Gota, even with almost tipping over their boat twice. But, in the end, Reynold is just too good on the hook for Phillip to overcome, and Gota easily wins another Immunity challenge. Was there any doubt? I know I had none. There is no doubt that the merge is coming next week because there simply isn’t any fun in watching these challenges, because we already know who is going to win them each time. Although, for me, it’s kind of sad because I LOVE watching domination take place, so I’d rather the merge not come and let the Bikal tribe just waste away until there were one or two left. Survivor keeps looking for ways to change the game – how about never having a merge? Just let the contestants keep thinking one is coming and it just never does. The game goes until three people are left, whether they be from one tribe or another. Screw individual immunity, let the tribes keep going at it and if one tribe wipes the other out before there are three people left, then you go to individual immunity, but if it gets down to two members on each tribe, it’s still survival of the fittest, tribe style. Losing tribe, final two build fire to see who makes it into the final three, and who goes home. Could be interesting. But, could be disastrous, too, seeing how it’s too system-shocking of a change…
Oh God, Phillip! You didn’t throw that challenge. You know it, Cochran most definitely knows it, and everyone at home knows it, too. Nice try. I don’t know why he would make that story up, and only tell Cochran about it. It’s not like he was in any danger of going home, and I’m quite sure he didn’t think he was in any danger of going home, so why bother? And, why throw a challenge and then NOT use the opportunity to get out a real threat? You want to split the vote and get out Julia, still? And, after Corinne balks at the idea of splitting the votes, you want to get out Michael, but we all know that’s just the producers making you say that so they can edit it to try and puzzle us before they cut to Tribal council. Come on, Special Agent, we know you didn’t throw the challenge. What we really want to know is why you felt the need to make up that story to Cochran? That’s the real delusion here.
Blah, blah, blah, revote, Julia gets voted out.
Stupid is as stupid does.
Such a wasted opportunity. If you weren’t going to get out Corinne, why not get out Michael? If you’re the boss, Phillip, why let Corinne dictate who, out of the two fans, you guys are going to keep? It shouldn’t matter if the plan is to get rid of them all. Why listen to her when she says she wants to keep him around because she thinks she can get him to work with them? You should know that she means “work with her.” Not you guys. He’s not going to work with you. He’s going to link back up with his few fans that are left, take Corinne over to the dark side, and hopefully turn the tide to getting you out, Phillip. Stupid move to get rid of Julia just because she talked to Dawn about ousting you. Julia has no clout. The fact that Dawn came to you and told you what she said should have told you everything you need to know about the kind of power Julia has. N-O-N-E.
You, sir, made a dumb decision. You just relinquished power of StealthRUs to Corinne. You missed the opportunity to show just what kind of power you had by demanding Michael be the vote this time, and not Julia. I get it you may not want to be seen as a tyrant, but I don’t mean demand in the do-or-die sense. Just in the for-the-good-of-the-alliance sense. Like I said before, you vote out Michael for the same reason you voted out Matt last Tribal. It’s always funny how quickly strategy changes in the game. One week, you don’t want coupled alliances to stay together, but the next week you’re ok with it. Ugh, too confusing. My brain hurts.
Well, the previews for next week ruined the surprise. I won’t ruin it in case some of you didn’t watch it, but we all had to know it was going to happen eventually, right? We’ll see how things go from here on out. Things should remain interesting with Malcolm trying to muster his power move to take control of the game. Can he fashion it into cashing that check at the end of the season? And, I don’t mean the fan favorite check this time.
Until next week,

So, ever since I watched last night I can’t help but wonder what if Julia had went to Corinne instead of Dawn to complain about Philip. IF she had done this, she might have been able to get Corinne on the “overthrow Philip” bandwagon and the vote would have been a 3/3 tie for Philip and Julia. And then, MAYBE, just maybe, everyone would have taken that opportunity to oust the tyrant. But alas, I guess that’s why Julia went home, bad-to-no gameplay…
Even I want Philip gone, hah! So tired of listening to him run the show for his tribe.
Philip is definitely delusional. He seems to think that because he played with Boston Rob that he is the new Boston Rob! Sorry to break it to you, Philip….you are not Boston Rob. He is playing better than his first time, but he still has some major flaws in his gameplay. At this point, I am hoping Malcolm wins. He learned from his last season, and is playing a smart game. He also has the advantage of nobody seeing his last season.
I agree with both of you that Phillip is becoming tiresome. I almost feel like this season has been the tale of two edits with him. We have to assume he’s been THIS crazy the entire time, but early on they were giving him a good edit, and probably not showing us all the crazy stuff he was doing/saying. But, now, it’s becoming too much. He’s let the “power” he’s gotten go straight to his head, which has affected/effected his game play and strategy to the point where he stands no chance of winning now. I don’t see any of his tribe mates voting for him in the end. This season has, once again, become Malcolm’s to lose.
And, I disagree with you, Sheila. Malcolm is playing just about the exact same game he did last time around. He is at an advantage (a la Russell in his second stint) that nobody has seen his show, but that’s all the more reason why he’s playing the same game he did last time around. The only thing that cost him the title last season was that he couldn’t win that final Immunity. He’s going to need to win that challenge this season, otherwise he’s gone. His only other hope is that whoever is in the final four with him are the type of people that want to take the best of the best to the final three. Those are the only two ways he wins this season. And, we all know with the way voting has gone in the past that it’s not even a sure thing he’ll win…
You know, Phillip even said it – he said if it was BR that he knew exactly what he would do- placate Corinne in conversation and then vote out Michael. He said it, but didn’t do it.
I’m finally over my PB obsession with Reynold and now I just see him as a bit silly, and clueless with his game play. I do like Malcolm and would be fine with him winning, but I’m ready to see some of the girls step up their strategy come the merge – Corrine, Brenda, and sherri (that’s her name, right?) have potential – not much lately but from what I’ve seen of them in the past, if they banded together – otherwise they are going to be over run by the males. There aren’t that many females left – or it just seems like there isn’t many left cause they seem nonexistent in strategy talk. Barely seen anything from Brenda this season, she was pretty prominent last time I saw her if I remember right. Hopefully we see these ladies step up!
Happy Easter!
Yes, Brenda was a mainstay the last time she played. Now, she’s an also-ran. She definitely just came on the show for the paycheck and the vacation.
No chance a woman wins this season – unless the final 3 are all women. Even then, the jury would break contract and just not vote. But, there’s still a lot of game to be played, so they still can step it up…
Funniest part of the episode, to me, was Corrine whining about how weak Philip was to Cochran. How she (Corrine) could have carried all the bags and won by herself. ( I lost track but that would have been her carrying 100-120 lbs.)
But Cochran dropped out and gave his bag to Corrine. So she is talking about Philip being weak to a player that was weaker than Phil.
Reynold – “Even a prostitute would have held out longer than you did” – HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
And Cochran is much better this season – instead of being annoyingly smart, he is humorously smart – calling Julia bland would be a disservice to vanilla – cracked me up! And how the heck did he keep a straight face when Philip told him that he threw the challenge . . . . oh wait, he really didn’t. There was a small smirk there 🙂
Hey rsanon, I cracked up at your post, thinking you read that line in another blog! I’m so bad at remembering the things I write – thanks for giving me something to laugh at, even though it’s something I wrote, myself! 🙂
