SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES – 12/12/12

Lisa brings up a point about how they might want to keep Denise, only because she’s more of a threat to beat Malcolm in the final immunity challenge than Abi is, but if that’s your reason for keeping someone, than you’re an idiot! I still vote out the bigger threat and worry about the immunity challenge when it comes about. It’s shoddy strategy to keep threats in the game just because you’re scared of losing a challenge to a different threat. If you already figure you can’t beat the top contender, why also keep the #2 contender around? That lessens your odds of winning. Take the threat out, and you move up one rung on the ladder, and now you are #2. Why vote out #5 and leave yourself at #4? I happen to think this is pretty simple math. If you were so worried about Malcolm winning the final immunity, why didn’t you keep Carter around and vote Abi out last week? Wouldn’t that have been the smarter thing to do, because Carter is so obviously a bigger threat to Malcolm than Denise is.

“Lisa and Skupin are not winning the game.”

“You’re an idiot.”

“You’re a moron.”

These are just some of the reasons this tribal council was the best!! HILARIOUS! And so out of left field. You know she was saying that because Skupin or Lisa probably told her, before they went to tribal, that they were voting her out. Although, with how stupid Abi is, she probably did think this was a good way to earn a vote! Too funny. Kudos to Skupin for not lowering himself to her level, because after 35 days of her b*tchy @ss, I’m sure I probably would have just snapped off and told her to kick rocks right up her sweet, fat behind.

I like Probst probing Abi about the fact that she knows she can’t win, and asking her why she wants to keep going then? This question has an obvious answer, but you just know he’s asking her because he hates her guts! You just never know with how the jury is going to feel, and how they’ll vote, so of course you want to go to the finals. And, who knows, maybe she was waiting until the very end to turn all intellectual and sway everyone’s opinion on her with some genuinely brilliant responses to the questions they were going to ask her.

But, I guess we’ll never know, because she was voted off! Like I said, shoddy strategy. You vote out the biggest threat last week (Carter) to keep around the weakest link (Abi), because you want to keep those around that you feel you can beat in the end only to vote out that weakest link the very next week when you have the same opportunity to vote out a bigger threat (Denise)? If I’m Carter, I’m REAL pissed off and start planning on voting for Skupin to win only because I know nobody else is going to vote for him to win, and I want my vote to almost be a non-vote. Just a shame that people keep coming into this show and talking up all this strategy when, in essence, they have none. I miss the likes of Boston Rob and Russell, players who came in with a clear motive, a clear strategy, adapted that strategy as the game went along and they learned of the tribes strengths and weaknesses. Instead, we get a bunch of folks who just end up lucking into a million dollars! Man, I hate Survivor sometimes.

But, we only have to put up with it for one more episode. Three hours worth of one episode, though. For all those who DVR the show, make sure to tape it late, because CBS STILL thinks people care about 60 Minutes, and always show the entire 60 minutes of the episode no matter what time it starts, so just in case the football games go late on Sunday, make sure you have that finale taped an extra hour or so. Also, note that the episode starts at 7:30, not 7:00 (Central times). And, the live finale starts at 9:30, not 9:00. Consider yourself warned.

Until then,
