SURVIVOR: BLOOD VS WATER 2 – 11/12/14

Looks like there’s a battle of the sexes tonight, as all preview videos indicate the cavemen are going to start ordering the cavewomen around. Not sure considering the current state of the nation if that plan will go down smoothly, but with Survivor being a single Petri dish in a broader experiment, maybe that kind of thing will fly.

The preview video I saw showed Missy telling Baylor to just “shut up and take it,” which is either:

A: bad parenting B: questionable advice from someone who’s been thrice divorced C: good reality show advice

I think the verdict is still out one this one, but let’s see where things stand in 56 minutes of show time…

But before we get started, I wanted to run something by you. In the interest of trying to do SOMETHING DIFFERENT than every other blogger out there, I was thinking about pulling together some questions to ask a former player. I’ve gotten enough interest/looks/tweets from a few ex-players so I hope to be able to get responses from … Continue reading

SURVIVOR: BLOOD VS WATER – 11/5/14

Merge! Merge! Merge!

For some reason I’m picturing Katniss Everdeen standing in front of the tribe raising her 3-finger salute at the tribes. Suddenly, helicopters can be heard in the distance. Confusion turns to chaos as everyone looks up to see a group of ex-players rappelling down and landing on the beach. They start attacking the “Hunapoyans” with a variety of sticks, logs and coconuts. They are led by Coach, who can be heard about the fray…

“Think like a man of action, act like a man of thought,” he says as he stabs Keith with the dull end of a bamboo pole.

“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity,” as he throws a spear at Jon…

“It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both!” as he hacks at Josh and Reed with a machete…

Other players like Russell, Boston Rob, Tyson, Parvati, Colby, Rupert, Jerri, Malcolm, Brenda and Skupin are part of the carnage. Corinne’s even there, throwing flaming coconuts at Julie whilst holding a cocktail, not … Continue reading

SURVIVOR: BLOOD VS WATER 2 – 10/29/14

Tonight’s theme is “The Trade,” for obvious reasons. It could end up being THE pivotal event of the season; we just don’t know what the trade will be. I saw Dalton Ross was asking on Twitter what everyone thinks will be the trade, and you know he’s probably got some inside information, but I don’t think it’ll be a simple, “Here’s the rice, we’re doing a Tribal RIGHT NOW.”

As I replied to Dalton (yes, I am THAT pathetic a Survivor fan!) I don’t think it’s fair to have Hunahpu go to Tribal, because that only punishes the weakest/least aligned/least popular person on the tribe. The whole point of the tribe eating all that rice is that THE WHOLE TRIBE ate all that rice. And it’s not even the “new” Hunahpu’s who f**ked up, It’s the original tribe that ate like slovenly pigs. Hell, I’d like to see some crazy twist where Jeff brings back all the original Hunahpu members (“get your ass over here Jon, Keith and Missy) and do a challenge, do a … Continue reading
