SURVIVOR: SECOND CHANCE – 11/4/15

November 5th, 2015 | 5 Comments | Posted in Survivor 31 - Second Chance

When the tribe returns to camp, the decision who to go after is the hot topic of conversation. Savage is heavily leaning toward Ciera because of the lie she made up about him, but everyone else seems to be targeting Kass for…being Kass.

Later, Jeremy and Spencer are off together, and even though he was in bed with Kass a day ago, he realizes the “Kass vote” ship may have sailed. It’s too late to suggest anything else and he doesn’t want to fall to the minority alliance. Even Keith walks up to inquire who he’s voting for – because we all know Keith doesn’t make any decisions for himself – and he’s told it’s Kass. However, with Keith being on the same “side” as Kass, you wonder if that’ll get back to her. Then, the topic of whether Kass might have an idol is discussed, and even though Spencer says she probably doesn’t, Jeremy thinks it’s a good idea to split votes.

I’m gonna go on record and say splitting votes is a bad idea, because it weakens the voting impact on both players you’re gunning for. Rather, you should just target ONE player who absolutely doesn’t have an idol – pull off the blindside – and then deal with the idol another time. I just think splitting the vote weakens both voting blocs, and it puts someone on the other side in trouble. But Survivor players never listen to me. So dumb…

The Bayon group convenes, and are even joined by Keith, who is just dadgum glad SOMEONE is going home tonight. (Uh, Keith, that’s the way the show works) but he’s also happy to vote out a bitchy player. When the “girls alliance” (Kass, Ciera, Abi, Wentworth) spy what’s going on, they’re savvy enough to realize the vote may be split, and figure out all they need to do is get to Spencer and they could be safe. Lots to figure out…

Kass finds Spencer and presents him with the “vote for Tash” plan and he appears reluctant to go along with it, but that’s because he’s a bad liar. He confesses that while he likes Tash, both Ciera and Kass had his back last vote, so he may be obligated to go along with them. Let’s hope not, but it’s Survivor, and people always find a way to screw up the easy votes. Let’s go to Tribal.

After Joe and Keith grab a torch for the first time (nice run, guys) Jeff opens the dialogue. It’s the largest group that’s EVER been to Tribal, so that’s kinda cool. Jeff asks Ciera about the state of the nation, and she confirms it’s drama central. Kass speaks up that she’s not playing chaotically, to which Tash throws a comical double-take that that’s a bold face lie. It’s already on, and we’ve been at Tribal for 34 seconds.

The whole discussion about whether Tash said “Bayon is no more” is discussed, by both Kass and Ciera, and Tash makes her case that that’s a lie. We’re moving on…

Jeff asks Joe what all this means, and he tells him that the easy vote is “one of these three” (Ciera, Kass, Tash) so Jeff wants to know how that feels, Ciera. She just wants everyone to know that it’s frustrating playing with people who are “scared to play” but does anyone know what she means? Who’s she talking about?

Jeff tries to set up Spencer for some backlash, but he’ll have none of that. Fishbach even gets in a comment about “tonight’s vote will reinvent the entire game” but that’s a load of horsesh*t and we all know he’s just trying to get more airtime. And once again, Wigles and Abi have nothing to say… Not a word.

Ciera tries once again to get people to do something big, but she is just grasping at straws. Say goodnight, sweetheart… It’s time to vote.

Jeff reads the votes (no Immunity Idols played):

Kass
Ciera
Tash
Kass
Ciera
Tash
Kass
Ciera
Savage (why?)
Kass
Ciera
Kass
Kass

And is anyone else anticipating some good Final Trial grilling from Chaos Attorney – Kass McQuillen?!

In the tease of next week, it looks like Sinister Pussy is returning to the crosshairs. But whether he’s the one going home is TBD. Big moves will start to get made, and that may rejuggle a lot of things.

As a reminder, I predicted “No jury” for Kass, but who could have anticipated a Jury of 10 (or 11) players? I still think it would be interesting if 4 players made Final Tribal, right? I’m just glad another piece of the puzzle has been placed. Too bad it wasn’t Abi.

Once again, apologies for not having the Shittiest Players list ready. Need to spend a little more time writing about each. Wanna be funny, not just put the names up. But this means you have another week to submit your choices. Please do!

Haven’t watched Gotham yet, but last week’s episode was awesome. The sexy firebug who’s now fireproof is a cutie, and I really thought Miss Kringle was headed toward supervillain vixen, but I guess not. That Nigma character is heading for a monumental eruption. Can’t wait to see Monday’s episode.

Nothing else to speak of. Kansas City Royals won, blah blah blah. Dodgers have a lot of choices to make. Let’s hope Greinke doesn’t want to go back to the Royals…

Sorry for the quickie column. Lots of stuff going on with me so I’m a little off my game. Come back next week for a really good recap…

BTW, did Wigles even speak ONCE this episode?

So confused…

  1. Good day Survivor friends ! In my eyes just a so so episode . A few of my observations . I was thinking maybe some kind of Tosh , Cierra alliance that editing has not let us see yet because of a blindside they make later ?????? That’s my only explanation for Cierra voting Savage . I may be wrong but Cierra is more and more looking like someone who would rather lose but beremembered for her big moves than win the damn million . Why else align with Kass ? I really have doubts on if she knows or cares about playing a winning game ! I have been trying to like Spencer but his little jabs at Joes intelligence annoy me . One I played football and if you think memorizing a playbook is easy you are sadly mistaken . Two Joe has so far shown to be a better puzzle solver than you boy genius . Anyone who reads this column and voted in Fishbach should man (or woman) up and apologize immediately !!! No athletic ability ,no personality and no chance to win . He had to set a new all time low for challenge performance ! Honestly other than that nothing stood out to me . I am a bit confused about the idols . No new clues and no one seems to care about where they may be hidden or who may have them . As always enjoyed the column . Signed sincerely the Survivor Club !

  2. Is it just me or is Survivor getting pretty boring? Why spend so much TV time on a challenge that involves not moving?
Did everyone see Kelley Wentworth grabbing her own butt? I guess she was missing Keith’s firm hand.
The Savage vote confused me, but perhaps the comment above is the answer.
I sure hope the action picks up. All the different turns this year (merges/splits) just seems like too much producer manipulation. Maybe I am just burned out on Survivor.

  3. It was good to see Savage pissed and a little less boy scout and a little more human.

Hoping tonight’s TWD moves a little more than last week’s “On tonight’s special episode of The Walking Dead” after-school special.

  4. Hey folks, thanks for the comments. Thought I should reply before I watch Walking Dead. After that, I’ll be in a different head space…

Rick: why do you hate barbecues?! Oh, never mind. I think the explanation for the whole Ciera thing is that she was just pissed at Andrew. And this is why I’ve never been impressed with her game. She makes it seem like she’s such a big player, but she wastes her vote. I think I read something like she didn’t want to vote Kass because then there might be a tie and she didn’t want to go to revote against Kass. IDK anymore. I just don’t think she’s that great a player. Stop with all the “Ciera makes big moves chatter.”
-I think Spencer’s attitude toward Joe is exactly what a lot of dorks think of “the beautiful people.” Namely, that they’re given the keys to a charmed life which they don’t deserve, and all those “real smart” kids out there are stuck having to work for everything they’ve got. Problem is, some of those beautiful people are pretty smart too, and all this exists in Spencer’s head so he’s revealing more about himself than about Joe. Am I on to something?
-I can’t explain anything about Fishbach. I remember Coach saying he likes him, but why?
-And yeah, what’s up with the hidden immunity idols? Okay, so Kelley’s got one and Jeremy’s got one, but does that mean none are hidden at camps this season? Did Angkor have one hidden? Seasons past contestants could find them without a clue, so why didn’t Angkor go nuts finding one. I’m confused…
-And yes, I’m not a big fan of Dalton. I wish I got his paycheck, but whatevs…
-Thank you and stay tuned for my Shittiest Survivor Players list reveal on Thursday. Good stuff in there!

Doc: I had to go back and find it. And yes, I did. Love when a pretty girl has an itchy butt. Good stuff. And I see what you mean about boring. Maybe because they’re all seasoned players there isn’t a lot of bullshit drama (like last season). These players are too savvy to get involved with that stuff. But, these players know about trying to maximize their own airtime (like Abi) so I know that’s why they/she does some of that stuff. Let’s hope the final few episodes bring about some prime drama…

Erica: Totally know what you mean. Makes me wonder what the cast thinks when they read the script and say, “WTF, I’m not in this episode and it doesn’t move the story along!” Sure, we found out about Morgan, and sure, Lynch will probably win an Emmy for that role, but we wanna see some Rick/Glenn/Carl getting a haircut shizz…

Hopefully, tonight’s episode will provide some insight.

    XO
    Fish
