SURVIVOR: FANS VS FAVORITES – 4/17/13

April 18th, 2013 | 4 Comments | Posted in Survivor - Fans vs Favorites

And, congratulations Dawn, crazy Phillip (who later becomes Fillup) thinks that you are a lunatic! Crazy knows crazy, Dawn. He knew Brandon was nuts and now he’s turned his attention on you! It’s not looking good for you here, Dawn. You may need to get yourself checked out if people like Phillip think you’re one of them!

Well, it’s official – Dawn is crazy. She just called herself “unstable.” And, now Cochran has jumped on board, punching your ticket to Crazy Town. It’s definitely not looking sunny for you, Dawn. It’s cloudy with a dusting of crazy coming in the afternoon…

Holy crap, enough with the Dawn being crazy or not crazy stuff! Apparently, all she needed to wash the crazy away was some sleep. She finally got a full nights rest, and “feels reboot.” Great. You’re still f*cking crazy, though!! Enough with Dawn, let’s get back to the game, please.

At the Immunity challenge, CBS gift wraps the final round to Reynold. He has to go up against Cochran and a bunch of girls (so, just a bunch of girls, basically) in the first round of the challenge. In the second heat, Phillip decides to actually sit out the challenge because of a personal story he wasn’t willing to share at this time, but I’m sure we’ll all be hearing about 35 other times before the night is over. In the final round, it came down to the two we all knew it would come down to, Malcolm and Reynold. And, Reynold pulls out the victory by a decent margin. He’s definitely a force to be reckoned with in these challenges, even more so than Malcolm, so if StealthRUs is hoping to have three of its members in the final three, they’re going to need to suffocate him one night.

I loved the quotes we got from Reynold once we got back to camp, where he tells everyone “I have mad respect for all of you.” And then tells the camera “I have no respect for Phillip.” Awesome. And, it makes sense to not respect someone with lions and gorillas tattooed on their body in the first place, but definitely when that same person decides not to participate in a challenge that could save them inside some loony bin game for $1 million! I’m not sure THAT is what would make me lose respect for Phillip, considering the laundry list of crazy things he’s done this season, and his past season, but I guess this is as good as any reason to lose some respect, if you had any left over for him.

Speaking of Phillip, he’s in the midst of telling us that he thinks he’s got a great chance at making the final three. And, that if people are not bitter towards him, he actually has a great chance at winning the million. Foreshadowing perhaps? And, not the type of foreshadowing Phillip is hoping for, either. This spells bad news for Phillip that CBS decided to air this masterpiece of an ITM with us. I sure hope you’re bringing your bag to Tribal, Special Ed Agent.

Oh, and if things weren’t already interesting enough, Malcolm found another idol!! Wow. For a group of people who are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO worried about immunity idols being played, you’d think they’d have more interest in, I don’t know, FINDING THE F*CKING IDOL!!!!! Seriously, Dawn and Andrea were the only ones out looking for it? You’re going to trust those two nitwits to find the one thing you’re so afraid of? And, typical women, they weren’t even really looking, they were talking to Malcolm over the rock wall as he was digging around! Special shout out to the Survivor crew for listening to my blog and hiding the damn idol somewhere other than a damn tree this time!! Thanks for that. But, back to SRS not even bothering to look for the idol. I sure hope that CBS just decided to edit out the fact that all of you were out looking for it, because if you weren’t, you deserve to lose this game and can now understand why people root for the underdog in these situations! I still don’t have a clear favorite for who I’d like to win, but I’m thinking it’s either Reynold or Malcolm at this point. I just don’t think anyone from SRS is even playing the game at this point. They seem to just be sitting around and waiting for the game to happen, for the rest of the non-alliance members to be voted off, and THEN they’ll start playing. Too late for my liking.

  1. I also thought how gross it was that Dawn didn’t wipe off her teeth before she put them in! I mean it wasn’t that noticeable that her bottom teeth were missing anyway. Just gross.
How ticked do you think that resort was after Phillip got the pool all dirty with the mud and his nakedness? I’m sure they had to drain it after the Survivors left!

  2. ” (knowing they’d just go and find them again, the next morning, most likely – all while the now-defunct SRS played “Find Dawn’s Teeth”) ”
Bahahahaha! That was really funny. Perfect comedic timing.

I find it kinda fun to try and figure it out – I know I’m only getting half a story, and that its guided by production, but I guess that’s the fun in it – when its a decent season with the right people, right situations going on where it is fun. This season is fun. Other seasons haven’t been as much fun to do that.

and I might have a case of PBS again – I thought it was hilarious how Reynold had that s**t eating grin on his face from the moment they walked into tribal – and then Eddie and Malcolm followed suit. How awesome of a moment would have that been! I think Reddie deserved that moment – and Reynold is a beast in challenges, it was super impressive how he just flew through it, and didn’t even seem that tired. I hope those three get a little power back – they are putting the fun back into the game, if it would have come down to those 7 only ones left, it would have been a snoozefest for the rest of the season.

  3. Steve, I was amazed at how many other reviewers wrote about this tribal and didn’t fully explain what happened. I have watched every season and this one goes down in the record books. It was such a perfect set up…the three guys letting the other 7 make their confident comments to Jeff. When Malcolm pulled out his idol, there was a brief beat before he gave Eddie the second idol. Once he did the others nearly fell off their fake tiki stools!! I couldn’t believe they were showing their hand and then to announce who they were voting for on top that. First I thought they missed the opportunity for a blindside but as it played out, they needed to make that announcement to get someone to flip. It made for tribal council awesomeness and the scrambling and reaction of the others was priceless. Seeing how most of the 7 blindly followed Phillip and stuck to their original votes I think they took out the right person, but if you were on the alliance of 7, who would you have cast out of your own group? They still had control and it was amazing they cast so many votes that didn’t count. Fake Sandra Bullock would have been mine as the most likely to flip. I am rooting for those three to take it all the way.

  4. How can you’re Harvard roommate ; ) not be who you would root for? He’s been amazing this season, now that he has one under his belt he is playing and reacting like a fan would, and with awesomeness. His insights crack me up almost every episode, and I will bet that if somehow makes the final three he takes it all. Then again he might just get fan fave.
