SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES – 11/7/12

November 8th, 2012 | 3 Comments | Posted in Survivor 25 - Philippines

Lisa is starting to play the game. Is this the same girl who said she wasn’t cut out for this game back on day 4 or whenever it was? Where did all of this gameplay come from?!? Now, she’s out doing what she should have done in the first place, by telling other people that Malcolm has the idol. She’s telling Pete now, and saying they need to blindside him tonight, because no matter what, Malcolm is always going to side with the Kalabaw alliance and not with Tandang. Pete, like I said above about bros before hoes, goes and confronts Malcolm about what Lisa said, and completely blows the read on that reaction Malcolm gave. All of that nervousness Malcolm was showcasing should have made it 100% evident that he was lying to YOU, not that Lisa was lying about him having an idol. And, through all of this, where did they come up with voting out Jeff? I didn’t see that one coming at all. I guess it’s a smart play since he’s a force in the challenges, but I didn’t think they’d be thinking that way this time. I figured Jeff would have a few more days, and challenges, before they started throwing his name around.

Jeff Kent walks up on some whispering folks, asks them if he needs to be worried about saving his own @ss, and Malcolm is now saying they can vote Carter out? I think I may have heard that wrong, but with all the back and forth going on, who knows. Anyway, Jeff suggests they now vote Pete out and they all scramble to get the six votes to get Pete gone. Isn’t this what you guys were trying to do just a few days ago? Why the urgency to get him out now? Just because Penner won immunity? I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t you have just voted him out the last week when it was pretty much the same situation with Penner having immunity, since he was going to use his idol? See, this is why I say Jeff Kent is an idiot. They should have just gotten rid of Pete last week, because RC was like a damn sitting duck in this game, and could have got got any time they wanted her gotten. Such a poor game decision, as is all this wishy-washy bullcrap this week.

At Tribal Council, Malcolm calls out Lisa for wanting him out. And, from that point on, you just knew this was going to be a great Tribal Council. You normally don’t get people to be so upfront about things, but Malcolm calling her out to everyone started a waterfall of honesty. Abi starts talking (which always spells trouble for her) and delivers their alliance on a silver platter to everyone in the tribe, even excluding Malcolm’s name from the list, which was news to him. Loved Probst telling her “It’s a little too late for that now.” Good sh*t.

I got a good laugh out of the sex therapist spouting out the line, “Every crack is an opportunity.” Why yes it is, sex therapist. Yes it is.

Malcolm goes and shows everyone his idol, just to clear the air about whether or not he has one. Immediately after he showed it, I had a gut feeling that he was doing it as a perfect reverse psychology play, where he’d get everyone to think he was going to use it so they didn’t vote for him, therefore he knew he wouldn’t need to use it, and would be able to save it for another tribal. I thought that was a great move on his part.

What wasn’t a great move – Abi showing everyone her idol! Listen, dummy, just because Probst asks if anyone else wants to show off their idol, that doesn’t mean you have to do it!! Geez, where do they find these people! However, I’m going to go out on a limb right now and say that her recent moves have garnered her a spot in the final 3. Everyone on that island would be a DAMN FOOL not to take her to the final 3! Just like Pete said earlier in the episode, that girl isn’t winning anything in the final 3.

With all the jabs being thrown around, Penner makes his move, talking to each of the six players outside of the fearsome foursome (Abi/Pete/Artis/Lisa) to join together and do what they talked about doing, which was voting out Pete. They all nod their head, and Jeff Kent even mentions that they were already talking about it beforehand and it is a done deal. Lisa tries to respond, but at that point, it wasn’t making any difference.

“This is pretty fun, Jeff.” You may want to hold that thought, Kent.

Doing what I thought, Malcolm rolls the dice and doesn’t play the idol, keeping it for another tribal council. I don’t think he was ever in danger of going home, so it was smart for him not to play. Same for Abi, she’s not going anywhere, so she may as well start planning on what she’s going to do with the money she gets for selling that on ebay after the season is over.

And, just to make matters more confusing, Jeff Kent is voted out! I have to say that I did NOT see that one coming AT ALL! I knew he would get votes, but I couldn’t understand why any of the six on the “outside” alliance wouldn’t vote for Pete! I was dying to see the end credits and see who the idiots are that didn’t vote Pete out. And, who else was it, other than Penner and Skupin!! And, what the hell was Penner doing voting for Abi? And, why would he bother making that big speech about the six of them sticking together to vote out Pete and then turn around and vote out Abi, of all people? I know it was just a throwaway vote, but hell even Probst knew it was the biggest blown opportunity in Survivor history (probably not true, but still, you get what he means). I guess Penner felt that Jeff Kent was leading the way in wanting him out, so by chopping off the head of the snake, he was hoping the rest of the body would wander down a different path. Or something like that. It’s late, my mind isn’t as sharp anymore. I had a rough day/night, so I’m not as equipped to come up with something intelligent-sounding right now! I guess we’ll just have to wait until next week to find out what Penner truly was thinking. But, I’m sure he’s thinking that by getting rid of Jeff Kent, he may have an opening to either join the Tandang alliance, or somehow just hope that they go after Skupin now, instead of him. I truly don’t know. I still think the best move there was to vote Pete, but maybe he knows something I don’t.

Until next week,

  1. I have been waiting all day to get your take on things and it seems you are just as confused as I am! Why the heck would Penner not vote Pete!!!

  2. As much as I’ve been a fan of Jeff Kent’s the whole season, he lost me when he gave his final words. To talk about all the money he’s made in baseball, and then totally disrespect the POTUS by saying “Obama” would take some of the winner’s million is bush league. Maybe that’s a phrase you’re familiar with, Jeff? Go back to your f**king ranch and complain like a lot of other Republicans about how things turned out. That seems to be the way you guys do things…

  3. I don’t get it either, why he’d make that big speech, and then not follow through. Only thing I could think of, is maybe they thought Abi was going to give Pete the idol to use. But that still doesn’t quite fit, as even if the majority voted out Pete, then Jeff would have went anyway. But we don’t see everything, so maybe they were just utterly confused because they had too many scenarios going on or something. I think it was Malcolm’s face that was so completely shocked and confused as to what happened. I don’t remember Penner’s face. No idea at all why he’d vote Abi.

But when Jeff gave his parting words, I’m glad he was gone. Hear hear ravenfischer. So glad you folks voted President Obama back in – and I think it’s hilarious when all the republicans say they want to move to Canada now b/c he’s in. Haha – our right conservative gov’t would be considered democratic in the states – and probably even more extreme democratic! So it would actually be more left of president Obama. Haha.
