SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES – 10/24/12

October 25th, 2012 | 2 Comments | Posted in Survivor 25 - Philippines

I got a good laugh out of Carter’s slip-up when talking to Penner, asking him who should it be, “Katie or Penner?” He played it off pretty well, because had he shown any type of nervous nature about his words, Penner may have caught on and assumed they were discussing voting him out. I’m actually surprised he didn’t make mention of it, anyway, because slips like that happen for a reason, sir, not just by accident! Penner isn’t even fazed, though, and says it needs to be Katie, even though he hates to lose her. We’re sure you do hate to lose her and her twins.

At Tribal council, Jeff Kent tells Probst that their tribe is all lovey-dovey and that “there’s not gonna be a vote that’s not a blindside,” meaning they’re all friends now and they don’t want to have to tell each other they’re the ones going home this time. And, Penner actually tells Probst he would appreciate being sent home, because it would be good strategy on their part. I agree with the man, but still think now is not the right time. Katie needs to go.

And she does go. But, this is the second time now that Penner has heard his name come up, and he should have that in the back of his mind. If she was going to vote for him, he has to know that at some point, then, it was brought up by the rest of the group. The obvious choice for her to have written down would have been Denise, so the fact that she wrote down Penner would make me believe that someone told her that was going to be the vote, so vote with us and you’ll be safe. Sure, Kent and Carter can just tell him that they told her that just so they didn’t have to say it was going to be her, but why not have told her Denise? If I’m Penner, I’m on my toes now. We’ll have to see if he heed’s my advice.

That’s all I really have for this episode. Like I said, kind of lackluster. Nothing big, other than the stupid food trade, happened. I’m still waiting for a big move in the game to take part, a big blindside, or a big alliance shake up. Something. Give us something here. I think once the merge comes, we’ll see some movement. That’s why I’m always a big proponent of early merges. Just merge them next week and see where the remaining Kalabaw flock to with the Tandang alliances. Give us some excitement outside of who hates this person for eating too much dry rice and whatnot.

Ok, I won’t bother you about my website, either. If you’ve visited it, I appreciate it. If you haven’t, no worries. Also, if you follow me on Twitter for this blog, just go ahead and follow me on Twitter for my website. I have 12 followers right now and it gets kind of boring only tweeting to 12 people! I’d appreciate it if a few hundred more people would glance over my tweets, and then mumble something like “Why do I even follow this idiot?” At least I won’t hear you say it, right?

Until next week,

  1. I’ve got to admit, I thought this episode sucked.

Neither tribe considered options they might use if the teams got stuck in a stand-off where the ball was not moving so, “for the first time ever in Survivor history!” there was a negotiated win. Boneheads.

And I have to ask: WHY was Probst so bent on picking on Katie, stating that she was either useless or holding the rest of her tribe back during competitions? He did the same during the previous episode.

Why did he have such a major hate-on for her? Even his trademark smirk while intoning “The Tribe Has Spoken” was smirkier than usual.

That said, Katie needed to go. Deciding to keep Penner as a stronger competitor and, more importantly, as a major target once the tribes merge, was a smart move.

Well, despite the suckiness of the most recent episode, I’m going to keep watching. I think both Denise and Malcolm are both awesome players and hope they’re smart enough to stay under the radar – while proving their worthiness – while everyone else plots each other’s demise.

Cheers to my fellow Survivor Fans. May the Probst be with you!

  2. Is it just me or is Abi a nut job!? If I was RC when she went off on her, I would have knocked her out!! Was completely uncalled for and then she went and blabbed about the idol! I hope they lose so she can go home.
