SURVIVOR FINALE – 12/19/11

It was about a week ago that I started dreading this Finale night. Before, when I didn’t blog about the show, it wasn’t that big of a deal that the finale was 3 hours long, but after starting the blog, and having to keep attention for the entire way through, 3 hours sounds like a daunting task. To make matters worse, CBS had a 3:00 football game airing, which always means that it’s going to run late and for some reason they still think people actually watch 60 Minutes, so they NEED to show the entire episode in its entirety or else face backlash from 85 year old dying people across the country. Look, CBS, give them another few years and they won’t be viewing CBS anyway. Speaking of 60 Minutes and other CBS shows that do “well” in the ratings, I have a theory as to why that is. I have a slight understanding of how the Nielsen ratings work, but I happen to believe CBS gets such good ratings because all of the … Continue reading

SURVIVOR – 12/15/11

Well, we’re almost there! We’ve endured Cochran’s slimy ass, Edna morphing into a Koopa (if you don’t know what I mean, trust me she kinda looks like one), Rick’s mustaches’ porn career being more entertaining than Rick himself, Brandon praying so much that even God told him to cool it, and Coach turning every small, meaningless event on the island into a philosophy lesson. And, here we are just one 3-hour finale special away from throwing these people out of our lives. I’m not going to miss any single one of you. Be gone, please.

“Then there were five.” Coach explains that they can always say that they played this game with honor, loyalty, and integrity. Yet, he goes on to explain that the real game begins tonight and honor, loyalty and integrity are being thrown out the window in order to save their own asses. I think someone should explain to Coach that you can’t be honorable, loyal, and have integrity for a portion of an event and then throw it out the window … Continue reading

SURVIVOR – 12/8/11

Eh, this episode was like my morning coffee. Not all that great, but I watch (drink) it because I have to. I wish that TV networks had the right to just cut these reality show seasons off early the same way they do with scripted shows. I can’t tell you how many times networks have canceled a show that I invested several weeks/years into just to have them tell me my time wasn’t worth anything to them, but here we are in the midst of what has to be the most boring season of reality television to date and we have to put up with it for the entire way through to watch some unworthy tool win more money then I’ll have in my 401k 35 years from now. I’m glad you starved yourself for 39 days so you could go win more money than I’m going to earn myself in my entire career and then you’re going to go squander it on booze, hookers, and a Porsche while I’ll be living in some studio … Continue reading
