SURVIVOR: BLOOD VS WATER 2 – 11/19/14

November 20th, 2014 | 2 Comments | Posted in Survivor 29 - Blood vs Water 2

At Tribal, when everyone is in and Josh takes his place in the Jury, Jeff opens with a question to Jeremy about trust. (How did you know to ask that, Jeff?). Jeremy says that while it may be 6 vs. 4 on the outside, there are trust issues “within an alliance.” To prove that he trusted Jonclyn for joining them, he admits that they gave up their reward to say thanks for going with them.

Jeff asks Jaclyn if being handed a reward “complicates the game,” but she denies that it does and just says that it proves she and Jon made the right decision to join the Jeremys.

So, in the “all good deeds goes unpunished” category, Jeremy is then rewarded by being sent to Exile, which could seem a selfless act, but Reed is quick to point out that it’s also self-serving as well as selfless…to which Jeremy agrees. “It’s a win-win,” says Jeff, and even Reed can agree with that. However, Exile Island was a butt kicker for Jeremy this time. The fatigue, both physically and emotionally, could be seen on his face when he returned, Missy admits.

Jeff then takes the “line of the night” crown from Baylor and offers,

“Has there been any talk about idols, Missy?” Oh, snap…it’s on like Donkey Kong.

She says it’s been discussed, but people are just really comfortable in their skin. “And comfortable is not how this game should be played, because the game can turn on a dime.” I agree, and it’s pretty shocking that on Day 24, not one idol has been played.

Jeff asks Jon (for some reason?) if he thinks someone has one and Jon’s “extremely confident” that someone does. Camera cuts to Keith to let us know that he’s listening (although he probably won’t speak). Jeff asks Natalie about what they’d do if “one of the 4” had an idol, and her response is that while it would suck if they had one, it would REALLY SUCK if one of your own alliance members is hiding one from you. Ouch, Jon, that’s directed at YOU, buddy… So to change the subject (because this was a good opportunity for the mierda to golpea the ventilador) Jaclyn interrupts with a question about why Alec and Reed have been really up front with the other alliance, but Wes and Keith have not. What are they hiding?! That obviously shows confidence, she surmises, so they MUST have an idol. Clever girl, Jon, she’s a keeper…

Wes’s explanation is that he hasn’t discussed strategy with her the entire game, so why would he start now? Jon takes it one step further by saying when the Joshes were trying to recruit the Jonclyns, it probably would have helped to discuss strategy with them. Things are starting to get ugly as players begin to accuse Keith and Wes of not talking to “the girls,” and we’re about to have another Battle of the Sexes, but calm is eventually restored and Jeff says to Reed, “this is great news for you,” because any time people are yelling and it’s not you, you’re gold.

Reed admits that’s true and says as long as you can get to the next second, “a whole new world of opportunity” can open up for you. And he’s living that statement considering the whole “Keith-bag-theft” thing…

And JFC how many questions are being asked at Tribal tonight…!

Jeff then asks Jeremy about timing and when to make the “right move” (clearly meaning taking out one of your own) and his reply is more about taking care of Jaclyn when Jon was at Exile because – as a husband – if someone looks after his wife, he’s solid with you.

Finally, Natalie ends the filibuster by telling Jeff that her alliance needs to stay strong to realize their “long term goals.” Let’s see if that happens tonight… It’s time to vote.

And it occurs to me the one thing we haven’t heard is who the Other Joshes are voting for. If the Jeremy’s split their vote and the Other Joshes vote 4 strong, there may be some surprises.

But even more surprisingly, two of the Other Joshes write down Reed’s name, so that’s odd. Why would you vote against one of your own, which only seals your fate a Tribal or two later? I’m about to give up on this season…

And with one final disappointment of the night, Jeff asks if anyone wants to play an idol and Keith unbelievably doesn’t (what?) so I guess he just doesn’t care any more, or maybe he’s playing on a subconscious level that most of us humans simply can’t understand. Jeff reads the votes:

Keith
Reed
Keith
Reed
Reed
Jeremy
Jeremy
Jeremy
Jeremy
Jeremy

Boom goes the dynamite. So who was the 5th vote? Hmmm…must stick around after the tease to find out, because the way Natalie said, “What the f**k, Missy?” leads me to believe it wasn’t Natalie.

And this season just hit the shi**er. I can’t wait to hear the uproar tomorrow on Twitter when the only really popular player is gone now too. I think this season is heading towards a Marquesas/Vanuatu/Caramoan level of crappy finalists. Let’s hope something turns this baby around and makes it memorable. I can only imagine what the production office was like the day after Jeremy left. Jeff and his crew are like, “Oh shizz, what’re we gonna do now?”

The tease reveals that Jon is going to be in everyone’s crosshairs next week, or will he? And Natalie is on a quest to find an idol. Not sure why she thinks there’s one buried at camp, but we’ll find out next week. And the voting recap revealed that Reed voted for Jeremy, so not sure when that discussion came about since we never heard who they were targeting. And since two of Reed’s alliance members VOTED FOR HIM, not sure where the Other Joshes stand now. Looks like it’s Jon+Jaclyn+Missy+Baylor vs. Natalie vs. Reed vs. Alec+Keith+Wes. I’m getting confused. Let’s just tune in next week and see what these crazy kids do to mess up the season even more…

Okay, turning to something really good, Walking Dead is getting awesome! I thought last Sunday’s episode was going to be the one to ignite the season, but it looks like the next 2 are going to be kerosene and matches. Gotta rescue Carol, gotta meet up with Morgan, gotta beat the hell outta (or kill) Eugene, and most importantly, gotta have one god*amn episode where every character is in it! I swear, this show is really screwing up my drinking game. You know, the one where I’m Rick, Carl, Glenn, Maggie and Tyrese! How am I supposed to get my schwerve on when I’m taking like 3 shots per episode?! Come on, Kirkman, help a drinking brother out…

And finally, I’m just so disappointed with Bill Cosby. What’s next? Mr. Rogers was a pedophile? Captain Kangaroo was schtupping Mr. Green Jeans? Dr. Seuss had an affair which led to his wife’s suicide? (Oh, shoot, I guess that one really did happen…) IDK, maybe I’m making a statement about social media and the affect it has on things nowadays. With the current state of the world, where everything is scrutinized so much, compounded by the “dumbing down” of America because of, I don’t know, reality shows, maybe? I know it’s a lot more than that, but I’m getting a little frustrated by the never-ending wave of crap coming at us via social media.

What’s the solution? Are people supposed to “pick up their games” and act more responsibly? Do we not need to be informed of EVERY LITTLE mistake that people make? Or does something need to happen to social media to make things a bit less…global. I’m not sure what the solution is, so I think I’ll just pour another one and look up the correct spelling of “schtupping.”

Have a great week, Survivorverse! I look forward to revealing the answers to your questions soon.

  1. Just want to clarify that all 3 of the Honey Boo Boo’s voted for Reed, so I guess that leaves him out of their little fraternity: Phi Delta Swamp. Sorry I missed that detail. A lot can go wrong at 1am…

  2. I am getting bored watching this season. Plus how can they give us a whole episode with no Jaclyn boob shots. As Fish pointed out we do not need to see Missy’s poopy diapers.
Plus the viewers were left out of much of the voting strategy, the vote made no sense in what we were shown. Not saying the vote made no sense, just that we left in the dark. I hate when we are tricked like that. Let natural blindsides happen.
Also jeff is getting way too involved in the tribal meetings. Maybe my memory is failing, but in the early days I don’t think he tried to manipulate the game as much as he does now
