But, after sleeping on it, Ozzy wakes up and tells everyone about a dream he had that he needed to give Coch his idol (why him and not just give it to one of the girls…girls are more trustworthy) and go to Redemption, himself. Keith, Weed boy, and Dawn all voice their displeasure with the idea, mostly because they can’t be sure the merge is happening and they don’t want to have to go to another challenge without Ozzy. Jim said it best when he said if they had to compete in a challenge without Ozzy, Dawn then becomes their third guy and Cochran is the fourth, or a woman, basically. Good stuff. I swear he hid some weed in his a-hole on his way to the island and is smoking it at the camp.
Best comment of the night, though, was The Coch talking about “pearly necklaces.” Oh, the irony. I guess he likes to give them.
At Tribal, Ozzy tells Probst about his plan and I think he was just too shocked to even really speak up about it. He does tell Ozzy that if he loses at the duel, he is going to go out a bigger fool than the last time. I don’t know why people don’t listen to Jeff more often, because he is typically spot on and drops hints about what the tribes SHOULD do. But, they never listen, and it’s usually too late anyway. With that, they vote, and Ozzy goes to Redemption to tell Christine that The Coch is a weasel and got him voted out. And, the issue I take with his great plan about telling Christine that Coch is a weasel is that Ozzy’s main reason for going to Redemption is to BEAT Christine and to get her off the show, so what good would it do if he tells her that Cochran is a weasel and not to trust him? If he beats her at the duel the next day, she goes right home and can’t tell anyone, anyway. And, even if she does beat you, you just gave her all the more reason NOT to trust your tribe. You want to make Coch a double agent, but that’s not the way to do it. You should be working on getting her over to Savaii tribe if she does beat you, not drive her back to Upolu. Again, I say it once more, Genius.
Ok, with that over, I’ll get to some of the questions I received in emails this past week. I didn’t get an overwhelming amount of questions (which is good and bad, I guess), but I did get a few that I liked.
First, I was asked by Genevieve if I thought that there is manipulation by producers on Survivor like I believe is done with Big Brother?
I will say yes. Maybe not on the same grand scale with Big Brother, but since both shows are on CBS, I would like to think the apples don’t fall far from the trees, since I’d like to think that some of the same people work on both shows. You just have to believe that things are manipulated since they do interviews with the contestants while they are on the island, in the midst of the challenges and whatnot. The producers talk to all the contestants and you just know that they are putting ideas in their ears whenever they have the chance to talk to them in “private.” Maybe they tell them something someone says behind their back, or maybe they hint towards where an idol might be hidden, or hint towards a certain person the public doesn’t like so they can vote off. Who knows what goes on, but all I know is that the people who work for this show are human just like the rest of us and can find it just as easy to “slip up” with mentioning things to people they aren’t supposed to. If I were a producer and in a one-on-one conversation with Elyse, she could bat her eyelashes once and I’d probably tell her everything I knew…
Great post! I felt so bad for Cochran when Probt started ripping on him during the challenge, then even worse when they got back to camp! I am def pulling for him, as an underdog! At the beginning of the season I was a huge Ozzy fan, but by last night I was happy he volunteered himself to be sent to redemption.
After the credits I noticed that Ozzy voted for Coch, are players not allowed to vote for themselves because I was certain they would show him with his own name written down.
And I am surprised by your answer the fav reality show female contesant… I thought for sure Cassi would be in the running! You were obsessed with her!!
Thanks for the great read!
Yeah, I know everyone expected me to go with Cassi, but had I had to write blogs about the shows those other girls were on, you would have seen what obsessed really is like!! 🙂
So Scott you never answered the question above – are you not allowed to vote for yourself at Tribal?
I’m pretty sure that Jeff says you can’t vote for yourself when there is a tie, so that must be the rule. I’m with Scott, I start to question why I am watching the show until I see a real survivor move happening. It’s not happening yet, but I hope it does(usually after merge). I love the blog, love to talk survivor. The first and best reality/game show. Also as good as the biggest loser for weight loss.
